The larger cities are connected by 'The Tube'. This is a tube railway system driven by gas pressure. Within cities they usually connect the spaceport, habitat domes and industrial domes. The tube runs all the way from Olympus Mons down to the Valles, and eastward to Pavonis.
For driving around we use Rovers or Buggy's. The Rovers are self contained vehicles, mostly with considerable off road capability. They come in many different sizes and can be equipped with a range of special equipment as needed. With the building of highways XXXX
Long range Rovers can be made self sufficient for months and are what you need for long trips off the beaten track. Rovers can be hooked up to trailers and from caravans. Some Martians live in these caravans, moving around from place to place finding work.

Buggy's are small, open vehicles usually used for short ranged use, such as on a farm, a mining site or by the police. These are not usually pressurized, so you need your skins to take one out.
We also use rockets, not just to get into orbit, but also to travel from place to place. A sub orbital rocket plane is the quickest and by far the most expensive way to get about. Passenger rockets leave the cities on a regular schedule. You might ask why we use rockets and not jets. Jet motors need oxygen whereas rockets don't, or in many cases carry there own. The thin atmosphere means propeller flight relatively difficult for anything other than small craft. For lifting heavy loads we use airships. it's safe to use hydrogen on Mars because there's no oxygen in the atmoshere so things don't burn.
Shuttles provide the commonest means to get people to orbit, though if you want to send 'stuff' and not people you can use the 'sled', a huge rail gun on the slopes of Olympus Mons that can boost modest sized payloads into orbit. It's not so hard on Mars to do this as Terra, as the escape velocity is much lower and the atmosphere much thinner.
